Bandolero!
Description
James Stewart and Dean Martin are brothers who kidnap Raquel Welch and head for Mexico. Non-stop Western action and great photography.Amazon.com
Bandolero! peaks early, with a long, immensely satisfying opening half-hour in which cowpoke James Stewart saves his bank-robber brother (Dean Martin) from the hangman’s noose… by strolling into town and masquerading as the hangman. As the brothers depart into Mexico, with a comely hostage (Raquel Welch) in tow, the action becomes more conventional. It’s handsomely shot on eye-filling locations by outdoorsy veteran Andrew V. McLaglen (clever Jerry Goldsmith score, too). George Kennedy plays the lovelorn sheriff in pursuit, leading his half-hearted posse through ban… More >>

I like westerns but in this film Raquel Welch and Dean Martin were down your capacities. Ever will be nice look Welch ’s body but the film is only that.

I think Jimmie Stewart does the best job as the older, seemingly more responsible brother. Early on he impersonates a hangman, rescues his brother and then robs a bank on the way out of town. Only Robert Mitchum could have done it better.

This movie lurches between being very good to finding ways to lack a punchline at proper times.
Jimmy Stewart and Dean Martin turn in delightful performances as does even Raquel Welch.
The problem I have with the movie most is it did not have a happy ending and when I watch Jimmy Stewart, I want a smile at the end.
I gave it 4 stars because Andrew Prine, Dean Martin, Jimmy Stewart and Raquel Welch were so good in acting a storyline that was in need of better writing and a better director.

I enjoyed this movie (what’s not to like? Dean and Jimmy? ) One thing stands out; it is Raquel Welch, in her questionable Spanish accent, saying to Deano…”they are Bandolero…” Make sure to catch the look on her face! Priceless!

Bandolero has an all star cast: Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin, Racquel Welsh, Will Geer, George Kennedy and Andrew Prine. ( Kennedy and Prine play characters that were “borrowed” by Larry LcMurtry, the author of Lonesome Dove) Stewart plays the brother of Martin who is scheduled to be hung in a town for bank robbery. What’s a brother to do? Does he save him? does he commit his own robbery along the way? See this movie and enjoy the kind of tale that makes westerns great!
