Just like the question says, how did Steinbeck include any biographical information into his stories?
Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Excerpt from ‘East of Eden’ by John Steinbeck

“And that was the long Salinas Valley. Its history was like that of the rest of the
state. First there were Indians, an inferior breed without energy, inventiveness,
or culture, a people that lived on grubs and grasshoppers and shellfish, too lazy
to hunt or fish. They ate what they could pick up and planted nothing. They
pounded bitter acorns for flour. Even their warfare was a weary pantomime.”

Passing by Salinas, we bike through Steinbeck country. ABOUTBIKE FREE Pedaling more than 5000 miles from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay to the California coast, bicyclists Paul Lebelle and Adam Burkowske have joined the movement to share the goodness of cycling with kids — specifically, the kids of our military families. Paul and Adam started Bike Free (www.bikefree.org), a non-profit charity, whose goal is to get 1000 bikes and helmets to military kids. “The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have taken a heavy toll on kids growing up in military families. Parents come back wounded or don’t come back at all. Kids are also facing parents’ multiple deployments,” says Adam. “We know that being outside in the fresh air, sunshine, and having physical activity is not only good for your health, but also raises your spirit,” says Paul. Both Paul and Adam’s families have military backgrounds. Adam’s brother served on the USS George Washington and is now stationed in San Diego. One of Paul’s grandfathers graduated from the Naval Academy and captained submarines. Paul’s other grandfather was former NY Giants Kyle Rote whose older brother, Jack, sacrificed his life at Iwo Jima and received the Purple Heart. “Military kids are the forgotten victims of war. Bringing the joy, freedom, and fun of riding a bicycle to these kids is what Bike Free is all about.” For further information or to help support their mission, Paul and Adam can be reached through the Bike Free website, www.bikefree.org.

my teacher assigned homework to find some short stories by john steinbeck off the internet. can some1 help me find 1 that i can print and bring to school? ty

This is my writing prompt for this novel: Select one relationship from Of Mice and Men and one relationship that you have experienced. In a four to five paragraph essay, compare and contrast the nature of these relationships. Draw some conclusions about what is inherent in the nature of close relationships AND how individuals are affected by relationships.

So far I have wrote:
Relationships are a part of life. Whether it is between friend and friend, sister and brother, father and son, boss and employee, alliances are to be made. Relationships are the foundations of the novel Of mice and Men by John Steinbeck. The friendship between the characters George and Lennie is different yet similar to that between my sister and mine.
